Kisses For Cade

Almost five months after suffering life threatening injuries in a car accident, Edennative Cade Roerig has made strides in his recovery including being able to walk without a cane over the past month. Helping Roerig along was a recent fundraiser held during the Day County Fair in which members of the public voted for a local celebrity to kiss a pig by using cash as votes. The event ended in a tie but raised over $15,000 for Roerig.

The 11th Annual Veblen Summer Bash last weekend was a fun time with beautiful weather. Many people came out to enjoy the festivities.

LA Board Talks Football Again

The regular board meeting of the Langford Area School District was held last Wednesday. During the public comment section, Activities Director Brett Gibbs and football coaches Michael Alberts and Pat Sayler were present to discuss the Junior High Football season. They are struggling with numbers to sustain a team. Superintendent Shad Storley noted that they are currently practicing and have games scheduled but will have to take it week to week.

Telemedicine In Motion

Last week, a Marshall County ambulance was equipped with a tablet, microphones, speakers, and cellular boosters that will allow the EMTs to connect to board-certified physicians and nurses through a telemedicine program. Britton native Robb Price, owner of the company GREVO, and his partner Daniel Price were on hand to install the equipment.

The Avel eCare system is tested after a recent install in another SD ambulance. Over 100 ambulances will receive the system.
