Lions Lose First Of Season

Homecoming On Friday

A week after scoring 65 points the Langford Area football team was shut out by Ipswich-Edmunds Central 14- 0 on Friday in a battle of Lake Region Conference unbeatens.

The Lions fell to 3-1 on the season while Ipswich-Edmunds Central improved to 3-0. LA will host Northwestern for homecoming on Friday at 7 p.m.

“This was a tough pill to swallow,” said Lions’ coach Paul Raasch. “We didn’t get off to a very good start and we just never got into a flow offensively. Any time we gained some momentum we had a penalty that set us back. Give I/EC some credit as they had a good game plan and played well on both sides of the ball, but we made a lot of uncharacteristic mistakes that hurt us as well.”
