First River Otter Season Underway

South Dakota’s first river otter trapping season opened on Nov. 1.

The trapping season is open to residents only and trappers must possess a valid Furbearer License. Trappers may harvest one river otter from Nov. 1-Dec. 31 or when the harvest limit of 15 otters is reached.
