The Langford Area School Board held their regular meeting on Monda
South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks and the Fort Sisseton State Historic Park Commission launched a new master plan last month to improve facilities, protect cultural heritage and improve the visitor experience over the next decade.
This summer at the South Dakota State Fair, Waletich Sisters, Inc, Eden, was recognized as a Century Farm by the South Dakota Farm Bureau during the State Fair in Huron. Accepting the award were Gloria Young, Watertown, Donna Karst, Sisseton, Vickie George, Sisseton, Linda Deutsch, Britton, and Yvonne Lentsch, Eden.
Julie Symens was honored at Sunday’s 4-H Recognition Event for her 36 years as a club leader. Symens plans to retire this year. She is pictured with her club, the Barn Buddies. She received a Black Hills Gold 4-H necklace for her service.
Kelly Burley was named this year’s Friend of 4-H for helping to get the dog show back up and running.
Awards, medals, premiums and other recognitions were handed out to Marshall County 4-Hers in traditional 4-H Clubs members in addition to 4-H Cloverbuds and Pee Wees at the Marshall County 4-H Recognition Event that was held Sunday afternoon at the Marshall County Community Building in Britton.
The Langford Area Board of Education recently received a Gold Level Award from The Associated School Board’s of South Dakota Board Recognition Program – Act, Learn, Lead.
