Bridget Samson, pictured right, is a local photographer based out of the Eden, SD area. Samson has been working at her craft for over seven years and most enjoys taking photos of families in their natural habitats, including in their homes, on their farms, and in scenic locations that are special to them.
When she is at ‘work,’ you won’t find
Dave Andrews of Britton was recently awarded a Quilt of Valor by Kim Roehr, Britton. Roehr has been sewing the special patriotic quilts for veterans in her family for the last three years.
For a quilt for her uncle Dave Nelson, Roehr had his grandkids Lena and Eli draw patriotic pictures, then she incorporated them on the quilt.
Kim Roehr has multiple family members who served in the armed forces, both on her side of the family and her husband’s side.
Becky Allen is new to the sport of hunting, and though she might be a novice, she bagged an impressive buck during this fall’s archery season.

The Britton-Hecla Oral Interp team are again District Champions. All the selections that performed at districts will move on to Regions on Monday in Webster. The team includes (left to right) Coach Gretchen Christenson, Jerod Nebrida, Emily Effling, Oliver Moeckly, Brynlee Patterson, Braydon Casey, Paisley Bray, Carter Chapin and Coach Christina Bosse.
Langford Area Oral Interpers Daniel Jesz and Josie Vander Vorst also qualified for Regions. Jesz will take his humorous selection and Vander Vorst her Oratory.
For the third year in a row, the Britton-Hecla Oral Interpretation team took home the District 7B Championship.

The 77th Britton Area Snow Queen Festival was held on Saturday. The senior and junior Snow Queens were crowned during the evening’s festivities.
