Paula McLaen of the Marshall County Healthcare Center administered a recent COVID-19 vaccination to Marlene Hickey. As of Friday a total of 1,230 vaccinations had been given in Marshall County and about 400 people have received both doses of the Moderna vaccine.

Vaccinations Ramping Up In Marshall County

The Marshall County Healthcare Center is continuing to administer COVID-19 vaccinations and as of Friday a total of 1,230 shots had been given to Marshall County residents.

Jenna Peters, Britton-Hecla grade 6-12 English teacher, was recently recognized as the school’s 2021 Teacher of the Year. Peters has spent her entire 13-year teaching career with the Britton-Hecla School District.

The staff of state parks in District 1 was honored with a teamwork award at the South Dakota Division of Parks and Recreation’s annual meeting held virtually in December. The award was presented to the team in recognition of efforts to take on resort operations at Roy Lake State Park, all while operating their parks during a record year. Northeast regional supervisor Willy Collignon presented District 1 supervisor Lori Skadsen with the award.
