The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 80 hosted the American Legion on their 103rd birthday as well as the winners of the ALA Americanism 2022 Essay and Poem contest. The first place winning essays and poems went on to District competition. The local winners in front left to right are Jake Zuehlke, NaKaya Stark, and Alexys Olson. Back row Ethan Denholm, Kaylie Trevithick, Navaeh Jones, Priscilla Mercado, Cecilia Anderson, McKenzie Cease, Ella Bray, and Rae Ann Hagenson. Not pictured are Natalie Treeby, Abigail Lee, Mataya Knecht, and Jordan Andre. Cease, Denholm, and Anderson all placed first in the district contest in Class 4, 5, and 6 respectively, and Treeby was third in Class 3.
