Koryn Jones, left, and Jiana Davidson were optimistic as they helped give the Britton-Hecla football team a send-off on Main Street prior to the first round 9B playoff game at Ipswich on Friday. But the Braves dropped a 52-0 decision to end their season.
Holiday Promos Planned
The Britton Area Chamber of Commerce is planning several holiday promotions for Britton businesses and area residents.
Each Thursday in November will feature a Facebook post called “Thankful Thursdays” on the Britton Area Chamber of Commerce page. Followers will be asked to share a picture or comment about what business in Britton they are thankful for and why. A total of $25 in Britton Bucks will be given to one lucky winner by random drawing.
Each Wednesday in December the Chamber will have a Facebook post called “Wish List Wednesdays.” Followers will be asked to share a picture or comment of items on their wish lists at Britton area businesses. The idea is to bring awareness to the products and services that local businesses offer and promote shopping local. Another $25 in Britton Bucks will be given to a random drawing winner.
Area businesses may register for free to participate in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 28 and/or the Country Christmas Parade on Dec. 5. The Missoula Children’s Theater will once again perform during Christmas on Parade. The registration deadline is Nov. 15 to be included in marketing. The Chamber will also be promoting via Facebook a Gift Guide for area businesses.
The Chamber will be replacing its annual “Holiday-Opoly” with “Elf on a Shelf: Britton Style” to run in December. Participating businesses will be supplied an elf to hide wherever they choose, or they can participate virtually. The first person to comment correctly on a Facebook post or to locate the elf in a store will be the winner. Interested businesses should contact the Chamber by Friday.
Decorated Christmas trees are also planned for the Event Center with details to be announced.
