B-H Graduation Set For Sunday
Britton-Hecla seniors will receive diplomas on Sunday in a way no graduating class has done before because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A total of 17 graduates will be honored with a parade down Main Street beginning at 3 p.m. Following the parade seniors will receive diplomas in the school parking lot east of the Britton-Hecla Arena.
Spectators are welcome to line the parade route but are asked to stay in their vehicles. Parents will ride in the parade cars with their graduate, and vehicles may be decorated appropriately. The event will also be livestreamed and links can be found on the school’s Facebook page and school web site and will be emailed to parents.
The parade will travel south on 13th Avenue from the football field, go through the Wheatcrest Hills parking lot, head east on Vander Horck to Main Street and turn north to the school.
A stage will be set up in the school parking lot for students and parents to get out, one at a time, and receive diplomas and take pictures, before getting back in the car, turning west on Fifth Street and then turning south on the bus ramp.
No parking will be allowed around the football field (except for seniors), on the street in front of the school (Sixth Street to Fifth Street block, or on the bus ramp.
