This past winter was a rough one for most in this neck of the woods. But for law enforcement and other emergency responders, it was extra difficult. Marshall County Sheriff Sam Swanson estimates that for every blizzard the area saw, and there were many, he and his deputies responded to four or five stranded or stuck motorists. Courthouse Bond Vote Pushed Back

At the Tuesday meeting of the Marshall County Commissioners, the board made the decision to wait on the bond election for the Courthouse project. Though no official date has been chosen, sometime in August looks likely. Poll: END OR RETAIN EXPANDED MEDICAID COVERAGE? South Dakota voters will decide in November on a proposed constitutional amendment that would end the state’s expanded Medicaid coverage if the federal government’s share of funding for the expansion falls below 90%. The expansion, approved by voters in 2022, provides Medicaid eligibility to certain adults ages 19 to 64 with incomes up to the federal limit established by the constitutional amendment. The proposed amendment would remove that expanded coverage if the federal funding level drops below 90%. If the election were held today, how would you vote?
