U12 Nine Tunes Up For State

Picks Up Six Victories In Past Week In Dominant Fashion

The Britton U12 baseball team tuned up for the state tournament this coming weekend in Webster by winning all six of its contests in the past week and improving its season mark to 26-10.

The Junior Jacks open pool play on Friday, taking on Groton at 11 a.m. and then battling Bon Homme at 3 p.m. Those games will determine the seeding for the state tournament played on Saturday and Sunday.

“Our crowd support is unbelievable, and we have the very best parents and fans,” said DuWayne Bosse, who coaches with Preston Kilker, Adam Suther, and Jacob Heitmann. “I’m hoping to have a huge Britton crowd in Webster this weekend. Let’s make it feel like a home tournament. This tourney can get pretty intense, and the boys feed off the crowd’s energy.”

The local U12 squad won its six games in dominant fashion this past week, downing the Sisseton All-Stars 82 and 13-5, beating Sisseton Red 4-0 and 13-1, and drubbing Webster 16-0 and 16-9.
