Britton-Hecla’s 285-pounder Tucker Hardy battled for control in recent wrestling action. Hardy defeated two state-ranked wrestlers last weekend on the way to a fourth place finish.

Two Britton-Hecla wrestlers earned fourth place finishes in a strong field of 14 teams at the Kingsbury County Tournament on Saturday.
Placing fourth for the Braves were Bryce Hawkinson at 144 pounds and Tucker Hardy at 285. Hardy knocked off two wrestlers that were ranked in the state to rebound from a first round pin.
Britton-Hecla was back in action at a quadrangular in Chester last night Tuesday and will compete in a tournament at Groton Friday and Saturday.
Braves’ boss Josh Hawkinson said he has seen improvement from his squad and wins will be important down the home stretch of the season.
“Some of our younger kids have kind of been thrown to the wolves in some of these tournaments, but they are starting to hold their own,” said Hawkinson. “This time of year every win is important for seeding in the regional tournament.”
The Braves are still bothered by injuries. Collin Beaner is expected back next week, Colton Chapin was scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday and Max Suther is out with an elbow injury. Dustin Stabnow also missed the Saturday tournament due to illness.
