Faustina Rapkoch and Harry Cutler finished first and second respectively in the 8–9-year-old division of the Madison BB Gun Tournament held Saturday.

Sharpshooters Second In 8-9-Year-Old Division

The weather outside may have been wintry, but the MarshallCountySharpshooters brought hot competition with them to Madison Saturday for the season’s third in-person tournament.

TheyoungestSharpshooters team, the Flurries, finished second overall with a team score of 2031 and 36 center shots. The Flurries members Tina Rapkoch, Harry Cutler, Rhyker Bender, Delilah Maxwell and Lukas Knudson have proven consistent thus far into the season. Additional 8-9-year-old competitors were Rylee Carlson, Charlie Cutler and Elise Biel.

Rapkock continues to prove to be competitive, winning the 8–9-year-old division with an aggregate score of 450 and 14 centers. She won prone with a score of 95 and five centers, eighth in standing with a 790, fourth in sitting with a 92-2, and she also won the kneeling with a score of 96 and seven center shots. Rapkoch added to her aggregate score with a test score of 88.

A close second place in the 8–9-year-old division was taken by Harry Cutler who had an aggregate score of 438 and 11 centers. He finished sixth in standing with an 80-1, fifth in Sitting with a 91-6, and fourth in kneeling with an 871. Cutler earned a ribbon in the testing category with his score of 90.

Other 8-9 year old results of note included Delilah Maxwell’s eighth place finish in sitting with a 91-2, Charlie Cutler’s 10th place finish in sitting with an 89-4, and Rhyker Bender’s fifth place finish in kneeling with a score of 86-1.

The 10-11 year old team of Rylan Carlson, Rosalyn Rapkoch, Jasmine Biel, Jacey Melroe, and Skylar Bender finished with a team score of 2175 and 36 centers. “The Tornados” were led by Rylan Carlson with an aggregate score of 449 and nine center shots, placing him ninth overall. Additional 10-11 competitors were Adalyn Kanizar and Tony Cutler.

Individually, Carlson placed sixth in standing with an 88-1, Rapkoch finished second in sitting scoring a 986, and Kanizar placed sixth in prone, scoring a 97 and three center shots.

The Lightning team of Joanna Cutler, Kaylee Carlson, Kaylee Biel, Baylee Bender and Chris Cutler had a strong day of competition in the 12Up age division, placing third overall with a team score of 2300 and 43 centers. The team leader was Chris Cutler with a 479 and 11 centers and he also boasted a perfect 100 test score. These scores were enough to place him 5th overall in the aggregate standings. Individually, Cutler placed 10th in prone with a 98-5 and 10th in sitting with a 97-3.

Nick Cutler was another 12-Up shooter, and he, along with Bender and Carlson, achieved test awards for their test scores of 98, 94, and 92 respectively.

The Sharpshooters are looking forward to hosting their home tournament on April 6 at the Britton-Hecla Arena and welcome all to come and watch starting at 10 a.m.
