Lions Seeking Elusive Win

Langford Area’s boys basketball team will be hoping to pick up its first win of the season when it wraps up regular season play against Waverly-South Shore at Waverly on Friday (JV 6:30 p.m., varsity to follow).

Region 1B tournament play will get underway for the Lions on Monday when Coach Brian Schuring’s club (0-19), seeded ninth, travels to eight seed Wilmot (5-14). Wilmot defeated LA during the regular season 58-28.

Regional quarterfinal play is set for Tuesday with the semifinals on Friday. Semifinal winners will advance to the SoDak 16 on Tuesday, March 5. The Class B state tournament will be in Aberdeen March 14-16.

Aberdeen Christian 75 Langford Area 25

Aberdeen Christian boosted a 12-point first quarter lead to 28 at halftime and cruised past Langford Area.

Kalen Godel led Langford Area with 11 points and three rebounds. Rennan Bruns had a pair of assists.
