Lemmon Ends Lady Lions’ Winning Streak

Lemmon jumped out to a 17-point first period lead, extended that to 22 at halftime, and rolled to a 61-21 win over Langford Area on Thursday, ending the Lady Lions’ two-game winning streak.

The loss dropped the Lady Lions to 2-4 on the season. Coach Michael Alberts’ squad hosts Herreid-Selby as part of a doubleheader with the boys’ team on Friday and will compete in the Redfield Classic on Saturday against Wolsey at 12:30 p.m.

“Lemmon is a very good team, and they had really good guards that pressured us all game long,” said Alberts. “We struggled with their press right away, but once we settled in, we did a better job breaking their press. I think this game was a good learning experience for our girls and I think this game will help us quite a bit. We will be seeing more teams pressure us coming up and as we continue our season. Even though the scoreboard didn’t really show it, I really think we got better and learned a lot from this game.”

Megan Gustafson led the Lady Lions with 10 points.
