The Lady Braves won its second straight match in a seesaw affair on their home floor.

“It wasn’t our best performance but our girls fought through each set and never gave up from set to set,” noted Ochsner. “Again our serving was strong with only two total errors all night with nine aces. Katee Freeman has done a great job passing and doing so consistently week to week. She had 38 serve receive attempts and only two errors. We are doing a great job at defending the ball but we are finding it the hardest to finish consistently at the net.”

Ellie Feldhaus has come on strong at the service line, hitting 21-21 with five aces. Kaegan Fredrickson had a big night at the net, hitting 1921 spike attempts and putting down nine kills. Alyssa james was right behind with 15-16 and seven kills.

Britton-Hecla set the tone early with an 8-1 run in the opening set, led by five straight serves, including an ace, from Kaegan Fredrickson. Alyssa James added back-to-back kills and Sterling Brassfield put one down to fuel the spurt that gave B-H a 15-4 lead and Waverly-South Shore could never get closer than eight points.

The Lady Braves put together one of their best serving sets of the season to take game two. Ellie Feldhaus served six straight, including three aces, to fuel a 6-0 run and give the local netters a 12-3 lead. Then Tiyanna Schott went on a 6-0 run of her own, serving four straight aces to put B-H up 226.

Emma Kraft took her turn at the service line to get B-H off to a fast start in set three, serving three straight aces to help fuel an 8-1 run for an 114 advantage. But W-SS battled back and led 17-16 before the Lady Braves took charge down the stretch. Schott and Fredrickson had back-toback kills and Schott served five straight to put the match away.

“Our girls came out ready to play and played three straight sets well,” said Ochsner. “We have changed up some of our serving routines and are seeing more consistency while staying aggressive. Our passers have been doing a great job at getting the ball to our setters to set up our hitters.”

Schott ended up hitting 1920 service tries and had seven aces, while Kraft was 12-14 with five aces. James led the Lady Braves at the net with 18-21 spike attempts and four kills.
