TRACIE (MATHIAS) RUCH
Our beloved, Tracie Renee was welcomed into the gates of Heaven on December 26, 2022. She was only 51 years old.
Tracie was born on March 8, 1971, in Oakes, ND to Ernie and Carol (Hurt) Mathias. She joined her big sister Laurie and later they welcomed Nicole to the family. Eric and Brady Hurt joined the family in December of 1993.
Tracie was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church.She was proud to grow up in Oakes. Tracie was an active participant in school and earned the title “class clown”, graduating from Oakes High School in 1989. After graduation she went on to attend NDSCS in Wahpeton obtaining a degree in Medical Technology. Later she attended MSUM Moorhead and proudly earned a Bachelor of Science degree in communications. She held different job titles over the years and was loved by her coworkers. She was currently enjoying her new job at Sanford Insurance as a Medicare & ACA Sales Representative.
Tracie most enjoyed spending time with her family, especially at their cabin on Lake Lida in Minnesota. She was always looking for a good time. One of her greatest joys was joking around with her great nieces and nephews.
Eight years ago, Tracie met the love of her life, Richie.They were two peas in a pod, perfect for each other. He was the love of her life, and they were united in marriage on September 4, 2021 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. During their yearlong honeymoon they loved taking adventures and in their short time together, traveled many places and attended numerous events and get-togethers.
Tracie’s smiles lit up a room. Always joking and laughing, the life of the party. She lived her life to the fullest and she loved hard. She never left without a big hug and “I love you.”
Our hearts are broken, and we will miss her tremendously. She will be in our hearts and memories forever.
She will be greatly missed by her husband, Richard and parents Ernie and Carol. Sisters Laurie Hansen (Jon), children: Abby Jorgenson, (Collin), McKenna, Harper, Briggs, and Kyler, Emily Petersen (Casey), Lucille, Jace, Ella, and Lanie, Haley Hansen (Zach) Sophie; and Nicole Ecker (Brian), Children: Carlie, Brayden, and Benjamin. Cousins’ Eric and Brady Hurt.
One of Tracie’s favorite mottos: “Be crazy. Be stupid. Be silly. Be weird. Because life is too short to be anything but happy”.
Until we see you again, we love you and will never forget the joy you brought to all our lives!
Visitation was held on Sunday, January 1, 2023 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. followed by a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Oakes, ND. Her funeral was Monday, January 2, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Oakes with visitation an hour prior. Tracie’s service was live streamed on the Dahlstrom Funeral Home website www.dahlstromfunrealhome. com on her obituary page. Burial will be at Oakes View Cemetery near Oakes.
