TONI LORRAINE SEVERSON

TONI LORRAINE SEVERSON

Toni Lorraine Severson was born in Britton, SD as one half of a double trouble duo. She was born to Jim and Karen (Titus) Severson on July 28, 1964 and passed away peacefully at the home of her big sister, Lorelei, on January 20, 2022 in Heron Lake, MN at the age of 57.

Toni attended grade school at Roosevelt Elementary in Aberdeen, SD before returning to High School in Britton. Upon completing the amount of schooling she deemed necessary Toni looked for bigger and more exciting adventures. These adventures included the birth of her first born son, Brian. They also included meeting the love of her life, Bernard Lipps and to this union two more sons were born, David and Jonathon Lipps. They were the lights of her life for the short years she was united with them.

After spending several years in Buchanon, WY, Toni and her son Brian moved to Sleepy Eye, MN to be closer to her twin sister, who she missed dearly. After a few years, Toni opted to move to Windom, MN to be closer to her big sister, Lori. It was there that she met companion, friend, and confidant, Doug Frances. Together they enjoyed all of life’s great outdoors: camping, fishing and probably most of all, her very own motorcycle and snow mobile. Among her favorite pastimes she enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, but most of all, was an occasional trip to Sleepy Eye and a game or two of Farkle with her twin sister.

Along with all the enjoyments in her life, Toni was very active in the community of Windom. From volunteering her time at the Windom Area Food Shelf, she firmly believed in paying it forward and always helping others in their time of need. Toni also worked full time with AG Builders of Windom, where you may call her a jack-of-all trades. She loved her job and the ability to always work outdoors. Due to serious health issues she was forced to retire from her job and all the activities she dearly loved.

So, what can we say about Toni? She was a sweet, caring, do for all person, whose heart and feistiness were bigger than she was. There was no one or nothing in Toni’s life that could hold her attention for any length of time, except a fish!

Very grateful for sharing in Toni’s life, no matter the length of time shared are her beloved sons: Brian Stanley of Moose Lake, MN and David Lipps of Huntington, WV; her brothers: Jim (Ann) Hagen of Lead, SD, Randy Severson of Langford, SD, and Cory Severson of Britton, SD; her sisters: Lorelei Burkhalter of Heron Lake, MN, Lynelle Augustin of Aberdeen, SD, Tina (Jeff) Altmann of Sleepy Eye, MN, Melissa (Jay) Gates of Britton, and Dixie (Baker) Hagen of DeSoto, MO; aunts, uncles and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.

Preceding her in death are her grandparents: Floyd (Margaret) Severson, Marvin (Francis) Elsen, and Bud Titus; her parents: Roger and Karen Crowder; brothers-in-law: Jim Burkhalter and Mark Hagen; and her infant little angel, Jonathon Lewis Lipps. May you both forever rest in peace.

Bearing Toni’s ashes to her final resting place with the Lord, is her brother and favorite fishing buddy, Cory.

Anyone wanting to join in celebration of Toni’s life, there will be a graveside service on May 27, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the Britton Cemetery. Rev. Terrill Sorensen will officiate. There will be a gathering following the grave-side service, at the VFW in Britton.

Condolences may be directed to the family in care of Lynelle Augustin – 2505 3rd Ave. SE – Aberdeen, SD 57401.
