NEIL OLSON

The funeral service for Neil Olson, 68, Langford, will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021, at Langford Evangelical Lutheran Church. He died November 8, 2021, as the result of a farm accident.

Neil Wesley Olson was born May 23, 1953, to Merle and Evelyn (Olson) Olson in Britton, S.D. He graduated from Langford High School in 1971. After a brief move to Colorado, Neil came back to the farm outside of Langford, where he lived and worked until his death.

Neil spent his life doing what he loved, working the family farm, first with his father and brother, then, over the past several decades, with his brother and nephews, Travis and Troy, in what is now Triple O Ranch.

Neil could fix or build just about anything. He enjoyed spending time with friends at Long Shot Ranch, the hunting cabin in the Black Hills. An avid NASCAR fan, he made it to several races and spent many Sundays watching races or football with friends.

Living right next door, Neil attended nearly all of his great nephew, Chance, and great niece, Chesney’s, sporting events. He supported Chance at his final home Northern State University football game the weekend before his death.

Grateful for having shared Neil’s life are one sister, Jan (Butch) Heinz, Longview, Wash; and one brother, Milo (Connie) Olson, Langford. He is also survived by niece Melanie Powell, Rainier, Ore., and her son Anthony (Cortney) Powell and grandchildren Hunter, Ryder and Kali Powell; nephew Travis (Lisa) Olson and his children Chance and Chesney; nephew Troy (Angie) Olson; and nephew Clint (Janice Marie) Heinz and his son, Hudson Heinz.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Clayton; and two infant brothers
