The funeral for Marlene Hanson, 76 of Langford, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 1, 2022 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Langford. Rev. Dr. Ramona Hayes will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Hillside Cemetery of Langford under the direction of the Price Funeral Chapel of Britton.

Marlene passed away Monday, March 28, 2022 at Wheatcrest Hills in Britton at the age of 76, surrounded by her family.

Marlene Mary Mann was born June 17, 1945 in Lincoln, NE to Seybert and Marcille (Mantha) Mann. She grew up and attended school in Nebraska. After completing her education, Marlene moved to California and worked as a bus dispatcher.

On April 15, 1983, Marlene was united in marriage with Claire Hanson. They made their home in Langford and became parents of three girls and a boy. While living in Langford, Marlene’s work life revolved around cooking and preparing food. She worked and later owned both the Village Inn and Swede’s in Langford. She continued to work as a cook for the Langford School and Wheatcrest Hills, retiring in 2008. Claire passed away March 11, 2020 and Marlene continued to make her home in Langford.

Marlene and Claire were a perfect pair, and they did everything together. As a fam ily, they enjoyed spending many fun filled days at the lake. Marlene loved to watch soap operas, going to casinos and was a big fan of Nebraska Football. She was an avid birdwatcher and read her Bible every day.

Grateful for having shared her life are her four children: Lori Larsen of Langford; Bonnie (Doug) Stolsmark of Langford; Jerry Hanson of Langford; Billie (Tim) Ronshaugen of Pierpont; five grandchildren: JR Larsen, Jane Long, Kelsey Long, Shannon (Tyler) Gauer, Luke (Andrea) Ronshaugen, and ten great-grandchildren: Dawson, Tucker, Robbie, Preston, McKenna, McKenzie, Dariusz, Justysze, Mya and Tate.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband and a granddaughter, Jessica Goebel.
