MARK STEINER
The memorial service for Mark Steiner will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at First Lutheran Church in Britton. Pastor Lance Griese will be officiating.
Mark Steven Steiner was born August 29, 1956 in Sisseton, SD to Daryl and Geraldine (Gollnick) Steiner. He attended his schooling in Roslyn and graduated from Roslyn High School. After high school he worked for Knight Construction in Webster for a number of years before beginning his life’s work as a farmer.
On April 7, 1984 he married Kathy Olson in Britton, SD. They had two children together. In 1988 he took over operations on the family farm and he remained on the farm until his retirement in 2019. Farming was important to him and each year he would look forward to planting, harvest time and working cattle.
His role as a grandpa was a high priority and he loved spending time with his four grandchildren. He also had a great love for his dogs, who he would take on daily walks or car rides.
In his younger years he enjoyed hunting but his true passion was fishing. Although living on the lake, nothing could beat fishing on the river near Akasaka, SD. When the weather wouldn’t allow Mark to fish, he would spend winters in Arizona. There was not a place where he wasn’t surrounded by friends. He was a friend to many and loved by all
Ṁark passed away Friday, June 10, 2022 at Mobridge Regional Hospital at the age of 65.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy of Lake City; his daughter, Rebecca (Eric) Lundy of Watertown, SD and his son, Steven (Kassandra) Steiner of Lake City; four grandchildren: Leighton Dolney, Harper Steiner, Preslie Steiner, and Colten Steiner; his father, Daryl Steiner; and his siblings: Blane Steiner, Doug (Tammie) Steiner, Susie Eckrich, Jane (Kent) Duerre, Sharon (Tim) Deutsch, Bonnie (Terry) Cleberg, Daron (Shari) Steiner, and Brian (Kari) Steiner.
He is preceded in death by his mom, Geraldine.
His arrangements have been entrusted to the Price Funeral Chapel.
