JULIANN LORETTA MOECKLY

Juliann Loretta Moeckly passedawayonFriday,January 5th, 2024 at Wheatcrest Hills at the age of 88.

Julie was born December 4th, 1935 to John and Theresa (Steiner) Streier in Sisseton, South Dakota. She was raised on a farm near Eden, South Dakota and attended country school.

On March 3rd, 1962 she married Ronald Moeckly in Britton, South Dakota. They made their home in rural Britton where they farmed for a number of years.

Julie was employed at Frank’s Red Owl, Dakotah Quilt, Gerkens and Remily’s SuperValu.

She enjoyed baking, especially chocolate ice water cakes for special occasions, molasses cookies, stuffing and Grandma’s brown bread that we all love. She also enjoyed gardening, listening to music, making macrame plant hangers for friends and family, an occasional trip to the casino, spending time with family, and visiting with friends Barbara and Rhonda Wade and others. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandsons, Karsten and Alec and her great granddaughters, Kenna and Kezlee.

She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Grateful for sharing her life are her daughter, Rhonda Elsen of Britton SD; son, Tomas (Jamie) Moeckly of Britton SD; grandson, Karsten (Kelly) Elsen of Milford, IA; grandson, Alec Moeckly of Savage, MN; great granddaughters, Kenna and Kezlee Elsen of Milford IA; sisterin- law, Georgia Streier of Sisseton, SD; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Theresa Streier; husband, Ronald Moeckly; four brothers; three sisters; and son-inlaw Sheriff Dale Elsen.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
