ELLEN M. FETHERHUFF

Ellen Fetherhuff, 96, of Aberdeen, SD formerly of Hecla, SD passed away on March 14, 2022 at Bethesda Home in Aberdeen.

Ellen M. Johnson, daughter of Marshall and Amy (Maynard) Johnson was born on January 13, 1926. She grew up in Hecla and graduated from Hecla High School. Ellen was united in marriage to Warren K. Fetherhuff on November 24, 1948 at the First United Methodist Church in Hecla. They lived on the family farm near Hecla, where they had various people help them over the years on the farm until retiring in 1990. Ellen and Warren were also foster parents for over 20 years.

On December 3, 1990, they moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota. Warren passed away on May 12, 1999. In October of 2001, Ellen moved to Bethesda Towne Square in Aberdeen and in 2014 she became a resident at Bethesda Home.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Warren, her brother Warren, an infant brother Merle and her sister Stella Moerke.

She is survived by several nieces & nephews and special friends, Daryl & Judy Lloyd and boys of Hecla, SD and Margaret & Larry Wild of Aberdeen, SD.

A memorial service was held on Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Hecla, SD and was followed by a lunch. Burial will take place in the spring at the Hecla City Cemetery. Memories may be shared and viewed by visiting www.dahlstromfuneralhome.com
