DONNA BELLE SCHOTT
Donna Belle Schott, 64, passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022 along with her beloved cocker spaniel, Morgan, as a result of a house fire.
A celebration of life is being planned for a later date.
Donna was born January 13, 1958 to George and Dorothy (Pfieffer) Schott. She attended grade school at Henry Neil Elementary in Aberdeen, SD. In 1969, the family moved to Britton where she finished her education.
Donna worked for the family business Buhl’s of Britton, as a book keeper and treasurer of the corporation. She retired in 2016.
During Donna’s life music was prominent, being from a family of musicians. Donna played with her sister’s band, Bonnie and Company. She also played in the band, Wild Card, where she met the love of her life, Richard Langenfeld. Wild Card recorded two albums and won the True Valley Country Showdown at the State Fair in Huron, SD in 1990. Later Donna and Rich had a band called, Deuces, with fellow musician Brian Crowe, and occasionally Gordy Zens.
Donna loved her dogs, past and present. Bango, Shy and of course, Morgan. She enjoyed traveling, coloring masterpieces, collecting clowns, and stuffed animals. She was especially fond of one little bear she called “Chester.” She had a special sense of humor, always making people laugh with her wit. Donna lost Rich to cancer May 9, 2022. She was grateful for the 31 years they shared together. She will be missed by her family and friends. We called her, “our little duck.” Rest in peace Duckie, we love you!
Donna is survived by two brothers, Dan (Lana) Schott and Bill (Barb) Schott; one sister, Bonnie (Ray) Bitz Durband; three nieces, Teresa Schott, Tammy Rohweder and Lacey Erickson; and two nephews, Todd Bitz and Robby Schott.
Preceding her in death are her grandparents, parents, one brother, Tom and the love of her life, Rich Langenfeld.
