DICK GLODREY

The funeral service for Dick Glodrey will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022 at United Methodist Church in Britton. Rev. Rodney Ulmer will officiate and burial will be at the Britton Cemetery under the direction of the Price Funeral Chapel. One hour visitation prior to the service at the church.

Dickie LeRoy Glodrey was born November 23, 1947 in Britton, SD to Harold and Violet (Schlagel) Glodrey. He attended all his schooling in Britton. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda Meyer, in August 1966.

They made their home in Britton and Dick began working for Marshall County doing road maintenance. After several years with the county, he made the move to working for the State Highway road maintenance crew. He later moved to Idaho for a number of years where he helped build roads through the mountains. After his time in Idaho he moved to Oakes, ND before settling back in Britton in 1985. During his years in Britton he worked for Carlson Construction.

Dick was a true outdoorsman and loved spending time outdoors, but especially during the spring and fall. He was an avid hunter, and was always on the chase for the next big buck. When not able to hunt he enjoyed fishing. Once winter was approaching Dick would be loading up anywhere from 15-20 pick up loads of fire lumber that he’d cut all himself. He had it down to an exact measurement to make sure it would fit into his fire stove at home, and always had plenty to get him through the winter! He enjoyed watching the outdoors channel, old westerns and listening and dancing to country music.

Dick passed away Monday, October 10, 2022 at Avera St. Lukes in Aberdeen, at the age of 74.

Dick is survived by his children: Tami (David Johnson) Glodrey of Kuna, ID, Terri (Holly) Glodrey of Langford, SD, Chad (Sandra) Glodrey of Sioux Falls, SD, Tanya Glodrey of Watertown, SD, and Joshua Jones of Brookings, SD; his grandchildren: Fallon (Jordan) Deutsch, Skyler Chapin, Jordan Chapin, Peyton (Jacob) Wegleitner, Tyson Nunez, Zachary Glodrey and Blake (Melia) Nunez; his great-grandchildren: Tatum Deutsch, Hayze Deutsch, Lincoln Glodrey, Logan Chapin, and Navy Deutsch; and a cousin who was like a brother, Denny Shuur.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Levi Glodrey.

Condolences may be directed to the family in care of Terri Glodrey – 711 Britton St. – Langford, SD 57454.
