DEB MURRAY

The funeral service for Deb Murray was 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Zion Reformed Church in Amherst, SD. Rev. Hal Phoenix and lay minister Christian Wattenbarger officiated and burial was at the Britton Cemetery in Britton, SD.

A visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.

Debra Kay Severson was born August 6, 1949 in Britton to Arthur and Lula (Yelkin) Severson. She attended her schooling in Newark and Kidder schools. On September 2, 1967 she married Kenneth Murray and they began their family together. They were blessed with a daughter, DeeAnn.

Deb had a heart for others and loved visiting and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed playing board games, card games (especially Pinochle) and bingo. In the earlier years she was on the bowling league in Claremont. She was active in her church and took part in the ladies group and bible study. She loved to drive everywhere, and drove the wheels right off the car once!

Deb passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Avera St. Lukes in Aberdeen, at the age of 73.

She is survived by her husband Kenneth; their daughter, DeeAnn (Gilbert) Hughs of Missouri; grandchildren: Christian (Daniel) Wattenbarger, Beth (Jason) Miles, Kyle (Kimberly) Hughs, and Dallas Hughs, all of Missouri; great-grandchildren: Dewayene Hughs, Danik Baker, Miley Fry, Abel Fry, Addieyah Hughs, Trycen Hughs, Tayt Hughs, and Righlyn Hughs; and her siblings: John Severson, Leonard (Chris) Severson, Ann (Dan) Crom, and Barbara (Robert) Lewis.

Preceded in death by her parents, Art and Lula Severson; her siblings: Linda Jones, Sarah Severson, Arlene Stolsmark and Halvor Severson, and great-granddaughter, Janessa Baker.
