CAROL RAMSEY

The funeral for Carol Ramsey was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at the First Lutheran Church of Britton. Rev. Terrill Sorensen will officiate and spring burial will be in the Britton Cemetery.

Visitation was from 5-7:00 p.m. Monday, January 10th, at the Price Funeral Chapel of Britton.

Carol Joan Buss was born July 9, 1944 to Henry and Helen (O’Connor) Buss in Fargo, ND. The family moved to Kidder, SD and she attended her schooling there, graduating from Kidder High School. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis, MN to work for Prudential Insurance.

Later she met Dennis Ramsey and they married on June 28, 1964 in Britton, SD, where they continued to live until her passing. Carol was a stay-at home-mom when the boys were small and also did babysitting. She also worked for her father-in-law at the Coast-to-Coast store. In 1980 she and Dennis purchased the store from her in-laws and together ran the business for 16 years. After retiring from Coast-to-Coast, Carol worked at Sheldahls in Britton, Dakotah in Webster, Kessler’s Grocery Store in Aberdeen, and most recently at Holland’s Hot Stuff Pizza in Britton. She truly loved all of her coworkers and customers

Ċarol was a member at First Lutheran Church of Britton. In her spare time she liked to collect Precious Moments figurines and other knick knacks. She enjoyed being with family, talking on the phone, taking road trips and celebrating special occasions with her forever friends, Rita Freiss and Dell Peters.

Carol passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at Marshall County Healthcare Center in Britton at the age of 77.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis of Britton; her sons: Todd Ramsey of Britton, Kirk Ramsey of Britton and Joey Ramsey of West Fargo, ND; her grandchildren: Kali Ramsey of Spearfish, SD, Shanley (Landon) Wolf of Aberdeen, Kyona Ramsey of West Fargo, Lucas Ramsey of West Fargo, and Sahvanna Ramsey of West Fargo; her sister, Sharon (Gary) Hardina of Gillette, WY; and her nieces: Heidi Gross of Gillette, Jill (Mike) Mikkelsen of Yankton, SD, and Lori Ladwig of Rapid City, SD.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Helen Buss.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be directed to the Marshall County Healthcare Center – 413 9th St. – Britton, SD 57430.
