BRUCE WAYNE NELSON

The celebration of life for Bruce W. Nelson will be 1:003:00 p.m. Sunday, June 9, 2024 at the Britton Event Center.

Bruce Wayne Nelson was born March 28, 1966 in Britton, SD to Arnold G. and Marie J. (Severson) Nelson. He attended his schooling in Britton, and remained in the area all his life.

He worked a number of years for Jim Miles as a farmhand. When the farm changed to Triple J Farms, Bruce continued to work as a farmhand for the new owner, Jeff Amacher. He was a farmhand for most of his adult life, with a recent change when he began working at Ken’s in Britton. He loved chatting with everyone coming in to shop.

Bruce married Melissa Martins and later divorced, but from that union were two daughters, Jennifer born in 1998 and Jessica born in 1999. He loved spending time with his girls and was blessed with a grandson, Grayson. He was excited for the arrival of his soon to be granddaughter, Clara.

Bruce was a big movie buff, and more than likely owned any movie you needed. His biggest interest was anything and everything Star Trek or Star Wars – he was the ultimate Trekkie. He was a Minnesota Vikings fan and enjoyed singing, especially karaoke. Bruce passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at his home in Britton. He was 58 years old.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer (Mark) Dunn of Herman, MN and Jessica (Skylar) Nelson of Fargo, ND; his grandchildren, Grayson Dunn and soon to arrive, Clara Dunn, both of Herman, MN; his ex-wife, Melissa Nelson of Langford, SD; his siblings: Anita (Henry) Anderson of Forman, ND, Larry (Bonnie) Nelson of Britton, SD, and Terry (Ruth) Nelson of Amherst, SD; and many nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold and Marie and a brother, Danny Nelson.
