BONNIE LU PERSON

Bonnie Lu Person, 68 of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.

Bonnie was born on October 3, 1953 to Don and Marlys (Opsahl) Wertman in Watertown, South Dakota. She was raised in Britton and graduated from Britton High School in 1971. She furthered her education at Presentation College in Nursing and also worked as an aid at the Britton Nursing Home. Bonnie was united in marriage to Allen Person on July 5, 1974 at First Lutheran Church, Britton, South Dakota and later made their home in Lisbon, North Dakota. Bonnie spent her career working at Bobcat until retiring in 2018. Bonnie was a member of Trinity Lutheran church where she also helped out as Secretary and a Sunday school teacher. She also was a leader of girl scouts’ program. Bonnie will be remembered by her generosity and her infectious personality. She enjoyed singing, sewing, baking and was known for her caramel rolls. Bonnie especially loved spending time with and spoiling her grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her children and grandchildren, James (Bobbi) Person of Fargo, ND and their sons, Dylan and Alexander; Jon (Courtney) of Lisbon, ND and their daughter, Brooklyn; Lisa (Ryan) Duval of Fargo, ND and their sons, Owen and Rhys; siblings, Cheryl Losie, Karen Mondor, Donna Blazer, Sharon Andrews, Larry Wertman, Mary Hock, Gena Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband, Allen; parents, Don and Marlys; and brother, Jerry Wertman.

A memorial service will take place at 1:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Lisbon, ND. A visitation will take place one hour prior to services.
