She was born on February 5, 1930, in Britton, South Dakota to Edward Francis and Luella Grace (Knowlen) Meier.

On April 16, 1949, Elaine married newly discharged US Army Corporal Eugene LaMoureaux in Britton, SD. He passed away on December 4, 2007.

She worked various jobs in South Dakota and the Hoquiam, WA area while raising 5 children. They moved to Hoquiam, WA and then to Aberdeen, WA in 1976.

Elaine is survived by two brothers: Ken Meier and Roger Meier both of MN; two sisters: Doris Lanz of ND and Patty Baughfman of MN, as well as two daughters: Donna of Hoquiam, WA and Terri of Nampa, ID; two sons: Larry of Mayfield, KY and Neil of Aberdeen, WA; eight grandchildren: Tanja, Crystal, Erik, Michael, Wayne, Craig, Gwen and Kelsey; 10 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren. A special thank you to Delphine for her wonderful care of Elaine. She was preceded in death by a son Gary in 2021.

There will be a celebration of life for Elaine held on Saturday, September 26th from 1-4 PM at the Hoquiam VFW Hall. The family suggests that donations be made to your favorite charity.
