Barbara Ann Weber was born July 9, 1946 in Britton, SD to Carl J. and Cora G. (Syverson) Weber. She was raised in Havana, ND and attended all her schooling there. In 1964 she graduated from Havana High School.

Following graduation she began working in Britton at Bonham’s Café on Main Street. During that time she met Henry “Swede” Wade at the Rainbow and they were happily married on October 1, 1966. They were blessed with two girls, Julie and Rhonda. They lived on a farm near Amherst, SD for several years, before moving to Claremont, SD and then Newark, SD. In 1985 they moved to Britton, and that is where they called home. Henry passed away on October 23, 1993 and Barbara remained in Britton.

Once the girls were of school age Barbara began working at Gerken’s Hodge Podge Store, and then later Wicker’s Café, Buhls and Cliffs. She was wonderful with people and a hard worker, and was always willing to help out however needed. For her final years working before retiring she was a dietician at Wheatcrest Manor.

No matter the holiday, Barbara loved decorating. Christmas time was always special and she had a large collection of Santas from over the years. She enjoyed watching the Hallmark and Magnolia Channel. Barbara was an avid reader. Most importantly, Barbara loved her family and loved gathering with them to celebrate holidays and special moments. She was always the first to arrive and greeted everyone with her wonderful smile. Barbara was a member at First Lutheran Church in Britton and served on the serving group and also taught Sunday School. She will be dearly missed for her kindness, her laugh and the love she gave to so many.

Barbara passed away Saturday, September 19, 2026 at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 80.

She is survived by her daughters, Julie (Lyle) Lenius and Rhonda Wade; her grandson, Nathan Lenius; and many extended family members and friends.

Preceding her in death was her husband, Henry; her parents, Carl and Cora Weber; her in-laws, Wayne and Elma Wade; her sister, Cleo (Loren) Johnson; her brother, James Weber; her sistersin- law, Donna Hoines and Vivian Weber and brothers-inlaw, Duane Wade and Orene Wade.
