They made their home on Roy’s family farm near Claremont, SD. This is where they welcomed two children, Sara and Mark. Karen and Roy had a long happy marriage and built a wonderful life together. While living on the farm Karen enjoyed helping in various ways over the years. She did the farm books, kept cattle records, cooked for any workers and often helped with the farming. Karen and Roy were members of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Langford where Karen taught Sunday School for many years and was part of Circle group. She also belonged to “The Club” where she treasured the many friendships she made during that time. She was a good cook and baker, known for stirring up a batch of her Special K bars. She would bring her delicious shrimp salad or rhubarb upside down cake to family gatherings. In her free time she liked doing crafts, sewing and reading. She took wonderful care of the yard at the farm and you could usually find her in the sunshine raking leaves or tending to her flowers. Most importantly Karen loved her family.
