Visitation will be 5:00-6:30 p.m. Monday, September 1, 2025 at Olson Funeral Chapel of Britton, concluding with a 6:30 p.m. prayer service.

Caroline Mae Price was born March 8, 1939 in Waverly Township (Britton), SD to Carrol and Helen (Johnson) Price. She was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church of Britton. She attended first through third grade in Pleasant Valley Township and then fourth through seventh grade in Waverly Township. For high school Caroline went to Britton High School and graduated with the class of 1957.

After graduation she worked at the Coffee Bar Café in Britton for a short while. On September 3, 1957 she began her career as deputy auditor at Marshall County Courthouse and served her last eight years as Marshall County Auditor until her retirement in February 1999. She dedicated over 40 years to her career as an auditor.

On May 18, 1962 she married Duane “Dewey” Christianson at First Lutheran Church in Britton. They were blessed with two children, Cheryl on January 11, 1965 and Gary on October 9, 1969.

Caroline enjoyed reading and doing sudoku and jigsaw puzzles. Her favorite pastime is dancing with her “handsome” husband at the many dances they attended together over the years, including Albert Mikesh, one of their favorites. She was also an avid seamstress and enjoyed sewing clothing, bridesmaid dresses, Halloween costumes, and matching dresses for herself and Cheryl. Over the years she liked traveling and would look forward to the trip her family would take every summer. After retirement she and Dewey, along with her mother and sister Margie, loved to check out the many casinos near and far!

Caroline passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2025 at Wheatcrest Hills Healthcare Center in Britton at the age of 86.

Surviving Caroline are her two children, Cheryl (Mike) Werner of Langford and Gary (Kim Schaunaman) Christianson of Langford; her grandchildren: Courtney (Bruce) Fick and their two boys, Rudy and Jack and Kyle (Laken) Werner and their children, Zoey, Wes, Trey and Tanner; and two brothers, Steve (Marlene) Price of Langford and Delvin Price of Sturgis, SD.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey; her parents, Carrol Price and Helen Lien; and two sisters, Lois Gerken and Margie Smith.
