CRAIG CURR

Craig Curr passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025 at Wheatcrest Hills Healthcare Center in Britton, at the age of 77. His services will be later this spring/summer.

Craig Leonard Curr was born on August 30th, 1947 at Britton, South Dakota to Harvey and Darlene (Stevens) Curr. He lived with his family on a farm near Claremont and attended school in Amherst. He graduated from Amherst High School in 1966.

After high school, he was employed on the family farm. He loved running the combine during harvest. He enjoyed cheering for the Twins and Vikings until the last few years when he became upset with them and refused to watch them on television. He was an avid fan of Western movies and television game shows. He also enjoyed a competitive card game. He loved singing and enjoyed sharing his beautiful voice with others. He was a member of the Zion Reformed Church in Amherst, South Dakota.

Currently, because of health issues, he has been residing at Wheatcrest Hills Healthcare Center in Britton, South Dakota.

He is survived by three brothers, Curtis (Cindy), Claude, and Cory; two nieces, Heather (Jarid) Childears and Heidi (Tom) Kelly.

Preceding him in death were his father, Harvey, his mother, Darlene and a sister, Cathryn.

Poll: END OR RETAIN EXPANDED MEDICAID COVERAGE? South Dakota voters will decide in November on a proposed constitutional amendment that would end the state’s expanded Medicaid coverage if the federal government’s share of funding for the expansion falls below 90%. The expansion, approved by voters in 2022, provides Medicaid eligibility to certain adults ages 19 to 64 with incomes up to the federal limit established by the constitutional amendment. The proposed amendment would remove that expanded coverage if the federal funding level drops below 90%. If the election were held today, how would you vote?
