Mundt Named 4-H Rodeo Jr. Ambassador

Lily Mundt of Britton was recently crowned the Glacial Lakes 4H Rodeo Jr. Ambassador. Lily received the honor before the 4-H rodeo performance in Sisseton two weeks ago.

For the contest, all the competitors perform a speech individually for judges, do an interview, and complete a horsemanship pattern. They receive all of their feedback and critiques from each judge as well.

At the rodeo, Lily also won the horsemanship contest but was most proud of winning the Miss Congeniality portion of the contest.

Thanks to her win, Lily will get to attend the state 4-H rodeo in a few weeks. She will be part of the grand entry and represent the Glacial Lakes 4H Rodeo. She will reign as Junior Ambassador of that rodeo for the next year.

Lily says she loves the Ambassador contests because she loves making new rodeo friends and cheering for them at the next rodeo.

Lily’s mom Ann Mundt emphasized, “It’s amazing to have these youth contestants step up and perform like little professionals. We want to thank Glacial Lakes 4H Rodeo and all of the judges and sponsors for having this contest.”

Besides the ambassador contest, Lily also competes in barrel racing, pole bending, breakaway roping, goat tying, and flag racing at 4-H rodeos. She will even compete in flag racing at the state rodeo.

Lily is a member of Barn Buddies 4-H club out of Marshall County but is also a member of the hippology club in Sargent County, North Dakota. She will be a sixth grader at Britton-Hecla this fall.
