LA Supt. Placed On Leave, Back At School This Week

Langford Area Superintendent Ryan Bruns was recently place on administrative leave following a meeting of the LA School Board on October 6. Bruns was subsequently back to his duties earlier this week.

The decision regarding the administrative leave was initially made in a special session of the school board. At the meeting, the board went into closed executive session for one hour and when they came out, the decision to put Bruns on leave was made.

The minutes of that meeting also indicated that K-12 Principal Mary Hosford was designated the purchasing agent for the district and as holding administrative signing authority.

The school board has said their attorney has advised them not to comment on the matter as it is a personnel issue. No other information was given regarding the leave decision. Bruns was not at the regular school board meeting held on October 12.

In addition to being district superintendent, Bruns is also the Athletic Director, the Special Education Director and the Director of Premier Online Academy. While he was on leave, his duties were temporarily reassigned.

Members of the Langford Area School Board include Jennifer Gustafson, Morgan Holler, Bill Jensen, Cory Cole, Krissa Samson, Amanda West and Brandon Alberts.
