The Marshall County Journal would like to congratulate GRACE HATFIELD on being crowned Langford Area Junior Snow Queen.

It was a small but impressive group at the Langford Area Snow Festival on Sunday. The event, sponsored the Langford Lioness Club, saw freshman Grace Hatfield crowned as the Junior Snow Queen.

The new Junior Snow Queen is Grace Hatfield, daughter of Jeremy and Nellie Hatfield. The other contestant was Clarissa Guy, the daughter of Bonnie Guy. Last year’s Langford Area Junior Snow Queen Jordis Jenner was also present, presiding over the festivities. There were no senior Snow Queen candidates this year.

With her win, Hatfield will now be eligible to compete at the State competition in Aberdeen on Saturday, January 7.

Several first graders also took to the stage as the event’s Princes and Princesses. Princes included Tuf Hagen, Jude Samson, and Tatum Deutsch.

The Princesses were Emma Stiegelmeier, Ramsey Bruns, Rowan Hosford, Lennon VanderVorst, Jovi Jensen, Evie Johnson, Abbi Slaba, Remington Opitz and Ava Larson.

The event featured some fun entertainment including Lillian Olson singing Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” and Adeline Larson singing “Cowboy Take Me Away” by the Dixie Chicks.

Frosty was unveiled during the Snow Queen Festival as well. Vicki Hoines was this year’s Frosty. Ryker Bruns correctly guessed Hoines’ identity and won $10.
