B-H Homecoming Next Week

Coronation Monday, Parade Thursday

Though the school year is just getting started, homecoming at Britton-Hecla School is coming up next week already.

The class of 2026 selected the theme for the festivities - “Cities Around the World.” Coronation will be held on Monday at 7:00 p.m. on the grass west of the tennis courts. They will crown the king and queen as well as light the BH. Candidates this year are seniors Gage Storley, BoDell Davidson, Luke Storley and Maggie Kilker, Alyssa James, and McKaelyn Zuehlke.

The community is asked to begin gathering ideas and materials to support this year’s theme. The parade, business decorations, and community participation are a big part of the spirit of homecoming.

The parade will be on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 1 at 2:30. The parade will travel on Main Street from Fifth Street to Vander Horck. It will travel west on Vander Horck to 13th Ave where it will turn North and then disband.

Entries should begin lining up on Fifth Street at the corner of Fifth Street and Ninth Avenue (north of First Lutheran Church) no later than 2:15. The block north of the Amacher Auditorium and the block north of the playground are reserved. Entries should face east. Parade participants will sign the school release waiver as they pass the corner of 5th and Main. Jennifer Carlson will have the waivers to sign as entries pass.

For athletics, volleyball team will take on Webster at home on Thursday night. Though there is no school on Friday, September 2, the homecoming football game will still be played that night versus Waverly-South Shore. Wear your red and white and support the Braves.
