YOUNG BRAVES FINISH WITH 7-1 RECORD
The Britton-Hecla junior high football team finished with a 7-1 record this fall. Team members in front from left to right are Javier Garcia-Gomez, Crue Jones, Breven Schmieg, Jordan Gutierrez, Colton Biel, and Kyson Waagen. Back row Coach Jameson Peters, Cullen Peters, Ivan Guillermo, Rylan Carlson, Isaac Richter, and Luke Zuehlke.

The Britton-Hecla Junior High football team won three of its final four games to finish the season with a 7-1 record.
“We had a great year,” said Coach Jameson Peters.  “I think the boys probably even surprised themselves.  With only 11 total athletes (one injured for the year), we were outnumbered in every game. The kids showed grit, heart, and a desire to win.  The future is bright for the football program.”
The young Braves had success on both sides of the ball, scoring 162 points and only allowing 58 (including three shutouts).  Offensively the team was led by Cullen Peters, who went 51-87 for 1,033 passing yards and 15 touchdowns.  Peters proved to be a dual threat by also leading the team in rushing with 543 yards on 77 carries and nine touchdowns.  Isaac Richter was the leading receiver with 25 catches for 640 yards and 11 touchdowns.  Defensively, Peters led the team in tackles with 55, followed by 48 for Colton Biel, and 45 for Rylan Carlson.
