NETTERS OFF TO 6-1 START

NETTERS OFF TO 6-1 START
Britton-Hecla’s Tiana Tank tipped this ball past a Redfield defender in the Lady Braves sweep of the Pheasants in its homecoming match on Thursday. Tank was 10-13 at the net with three kills in the contest as B-H improved to 6-1 for the season.

The Britton-Hecla volleyball squad added another win on homecoming by sweeping Redfield on Thursday for its third straight win and boosting its season mark to 6-1.
Coach Jenna Peters’ crew kicked off a busy week by hosting Waverly-South Shore last night Tuesday, travels to Florence-Henry on Thursday, competes in a tournament at Great Plains Lutheran in Watertown on Saturday, and hosts Sisseton on Tuesday.
“Redfield was a good win,” said Peters.  “We look better and more solid every game.”

B-H 25-25-25
Redfield 19-16-21
Britton-Hecla started fast in all three sets and then weathered Redfield comebacks to earn the sweep.
Maddi Micko, who pounded 11 kills to lead a 38-kill attack by the Lady Braves, hit three of those kills in the early going to give B-H a 9-3 jumped start in the opening set.  Redfield cut that margin to 9-8 but a perfect corner placement from Grupe and two kills apiece by Daynika Zuehlke and Mataya Knecht led a 10-4 run and the Lady Braves were back in charge.
Micko and Zuehlke both recorded two kills and Tiana Tank added another as B-H jumped out to an 8-3 lead in set two.  Again Redfield came back within one, 13-12, but two more Micko kills and a kill and ace from Chellon Pruitt kept the Pheasants at bay.
The final set was a similar scenario except for the fact that Redfield took its first lead of the match.  Micko, Zuelke, and Knecht hit kills and Pruitt served anm ace for a 9-5 advantage but Redfield went on an 8-1 run to go up 13-10.  The set was tied at 18-all but Zuehlke had two kills, and Tank, Knecht, and Grupe each had one to close out the match.
