Langford Area School will celebrate Homecoming Week Sept. 13-18 with a full slate of dress-up days, activities and athletic events leading up to Friday night’s football game in Groton.
The theme is “Lions Eat the Competition” (food themed).
The week will begin Sunday, Sept. 13, with the crowning of the 2026 Homecoming King and Queen at 3 p.m. in the school gym. King candidates are Cason Okroi (parents Gus and Sara Okroi), Hunter Jensen (Bill and Kelly Jensen) and Steven Harmon (Tonya Harmon and Dennis Nelson), while queen candidates are Brynn Samson (Stuart and Krissa Samson), Brooke Dwight (Jadee and Amy Dwight) and Emily Olson (Nathan and Sara Olson).
Monday will feature Twin Day, with pep fest scheduled for 8:35-9:05 a.m. The evening will include a volleyball game against Britton. Tuesday is Country vs. Country Club Day, followed by a pep fest and an evening Homecoming volleyball game against North Central. A snake dance and lighting of the Langford Area School torch will follow the volleyball game.
The theme for Wednesday is Pajama Day, with pep fest from 2:55-3:30 p.m. Thursday will be Class Colors Day, followed by another afternoon pep fest.
Homecoming festivities will wrap up Friday, Sept. 18, with Lion Pride Day and the Homecoming Parade at 1 p.m. The week will conclude with the Langford Area football team taking on Groton at 7 p.m. in Groton.
Students and community members are encouraged to join in the themed days and help celebrate Langford Area Homecoming.
