We’ve officially hit the “get this baby out of me” the stage where, my patience has left the building, and anyone within a five-foot radius is fair game.”
On Sunday, Chase would simply look at me, and I’d immediately think, What’s your problem? When he and Dad were making supper, every little thing somehow felt like an intense throwdown in my mind. He kept laughing at something on his phone every 20 seconds, and every time, I had to turn around and give him the attitude. He’d come in for a hug and I’d hiss “don’t touch me.” Then five minutes later I’d ask him why he doesn’t love me anymore. What a good sport.
He just smiled, laughed, and said, “I want my wife back.”
We all got a kick out of it because, honestly, it’s true. I’m not exactly human anymore at this point in the pregnancy. To be fair, if you needed help getting up and down from a kitchen chair every single time, you’d probably be a little cranky too.
But we’ve officially made it to September!
The first was my birthday, and all I wanted this year was to share a birthday with my son. To me, that would be the best birthday I could ever ask for. But, of course, because I want it so badly, it probably won’t happen. There’s still some time left in the day, so we’ll see!
And that’s okay, because I get my Sapphire September baby after all. I love my birthstone, and being able to share that with him is just another reason to get excited.
The girls were born just a week before Chase’s birthday in October, so being able to share my birthday month with my son makes me feel incredibly grateful. Anyone who knows us, or reads my columns, knows how much our family loves fall.
From September 1st through October 31st, my family is officially in our happy season. Between my birthday, our wedding anniversary, Labor Day, the girls’ birthday, Chase’s birthday, cooler weather, bonfires, and Halloween, we have a whole lot to celebrate over the next couple of months.
Now we’re just adding another birthday to the mix, and that makes us so happy.
So, as of right now, no matter what, we only have 10 more days until we meet our little man. After all this time, planning, patience, and care, I think I can hang in there for it.
Because really, what’s 10 more days?
Just don’t breathe on me, Chase, and you’ll be fine.
