The Marshall County 4-H Sharpshooters sent two air rifle teams to the Daisy National Championships in Rogers, AR, and came home with a championship trophy.
Team 1 consisted of Austin Crawford, Amelia Crawford, Chris Cutler, and Alivia Crawford. Team 2 included Nick Cutler, Ariana Crawford, Rhyker Bender, and Skylar Bender.
Team 1 brought its best with a total score of 2,167 and 66 centers, landing them a first place win that was 73 points better than the second place team. Alivia came in eighth place out of 125 shooters with a score of 529-13. Chris shot his top score of 535-14, taking fifth. Amelia shot a 544-13 which put her in third place. Austin shot an amazing 559-26 to take the overall individual title. He was third in prone with a 194 and 11 centers and was first in kneeling with a 196 and 12 centers.
Team 2 had an excellent showing with Nick shooting a 516-11, Ariana a 480-8, Rhyker a 455-7, and Skylar a 452-4. The team total was 1,903 and 30 centers, earning the team a 14th place out of 22 teams.
All of the Team 1 members finished among the top eight individuals and earned the right to compete in a shoot-out with the top 10 shooters, which was a separate competition. They shot 10 shots from the standing position, getting one minute per shot. Austin placed fifth, Chris came in sixth, Amelia seventh, and Alivia ninth.
