Langford will celebrate its annual Summer Fest and Alumni Weekend July 24-26 with a full schedule of activities for residents, alumni and visitors of all ages. This year’s celebration will also recognize Langford’s 140th anniversary.
The weekend will kick off Friday, July 24, with a block party on Main Street under the tent from 5-7 p.m., along with a food truck. A golf cart poker run will follow at the park from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
Friday evening will feature the Alumni Party with Kat Perkins on Main Street from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Saturday’s activities will begin with town-wide garage sales and the Summer Fest 5K Run/Walk at the park at 9 a.m. Additional Saturday activities include a Texas Hold’em tournament, tractor pull, raptor education, children’s activities, games, food trucks and more.
A Patriotic Parade will take place Saturday at 3 p.m. The Shriner’s Bean Bag Tournament will begin at 4:30 p.m. at Remedy’s, and children’s activities, including a foam party and inflatables, will be held at the Legion Hall from 4-6 p.m.
A highlight of Saturday evening will be the Langford High School Musical Review at 6:30 p.m. on the Main Street stage. The performance will feature songs from musicals performed in Langford High School plays over the years while honoring the director behind those productions and celebrating five decades of contributions. The event is designed as an audience participation celebration, with attendees invited to sing along. Admission is free, and those attending are encouraged to bring their own chairs.
The evening will continue with an Alumni Party featuring Dueling Duo with Andy Gibson from 8-10:30 p.m. on Main Street.
Sunday, July 26, will include a community church service at the Legion Hall at 10 a.m., food trucks from, a an outdoor vendor fair, and the Show ‘n Shine Car Show at the park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Live music from Retro Rockets will be held at the park from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with kids activities also planned.
