The Britton U10 baseball team split a twin bill with Milbank Red last week Tuesday, winning the opener 11-5 but falling in the nightcap 7-5, in final regular season action and will travel to Beresford this weekend for state tournament play.
Britton will tangle with Montrose at noon and Clear Lake at 6 p.m. on Friday and then battle Beresford at noon on Saturday in state tournament pool play. Bracket play will continue on Saturday and Sunday.

Milbank 5-7
Britton led 6-5 after two innings of the opener and put the game away with a five-run third, while Milbank came up with a walk-off two-run double in the final frame of the nightcap to earn the split.
Tatum Deutsch slammed a three-run homer and two singles and collected five RBI’s to lead Britton’s attack. Gage Beck added a pair of singles and two RBI’s, Gannon Peters tripled, and James Raabe and Rylan Bremmon had base hits. Oliver Suther and Kandrick Jones teamed up on the mound with Suther fanning four and picking up the win.
In game two Milbank erased a 2-0 deficit with five runs in the bottom of the first but Britton tied the game at 5-5 with two tallies in the second and another in the top of the fourth. Deutsch doubled and singled and knocked in three runs, Beck doubled, and Jones, Sam Richter, Tyler Wurst, and Brek Stelzer singled as Britton out-hit Milbank 7-4. Four Britton pitchers combined for seven strikeouts.
