LANGFORD LIBRARY PICKS UP GRANTS

LANGFORD LIBRARY PICKS UP GRANTS

The Langford Public Library recently added 63 new hardcover books to its collection through the Children’s Book Project Grant from the Pilcrow Foundation. The grant was made possible through a local sponsorship from Highlanda Lutheran Church.
The donation expands the library’s collection with books for readers of various ages and interests.
In addition to the core collection, the library received several sponsored donations, including one bonus book, The White Buffalo, sponsored by Marc Nitsche in partnership with Jonathan Warm Day Coming and the Pilcrow Foundation.
The library also received 16 health and wellness books sponsored by Bill Strawbridge and Meg Wallhagen of Colorado, providing resources on healthy living and personal wellness, along with 20 math and science books sponsored by Hal Berenson and Laura Ackerman of California to expand the library’s educational materials in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Librarian Shelby Everson said the additions will strengthen the library’s collection and provide patrons with access to a broader selection of current reading materials.
“Their support helps us continue our mission of providing free access to information, education and enjoyment for everyone in our small community,” Everson said.
The new books are available for checkout at the Langford Public Library. A complete list of titles received through the Children’s Book Project Grant is available on the library’s Facebook page.
