The Britton U10 Junior Jacks baseball team won four of nine recent contests, stopping Sisseton in four of five games, dropping a pair to Groton, and falling twice to Clark.

Clark pounded out 12 hits to roll to a 12-2 win over the Junior Jacks in action on Monday.
Gage Beck came up with a double and single and Kandrick Jones added a base hit for the local nine. Five pitchers took the mound for Britton and combined for 10 strikeouts while two Clark hurlers fanned 12.

Sisseton 6-0
Britton scored in all but one inning of the doubleheader to earn the sweep over Sisseton.
The local nine had three-run innings in the first and third frames of the opener and then weathered a Sisseton rally to get the win. Isaac O’Brien doubled and singled and collected four RBI’s, Tatum Deutsch tripled and singled, Oliver Suther singled twice, and Andrew Bolzer had a base hit. Suther earned the pitching win, fanning four in one and two-thirds innings and not allowing a hit, and Sam Richter pitched two innings of relief and struck out four.
In game two Britton took charge early with four runs in the first and three more in the second while allowing just two Sisseton hits. Gannon Peters doubled and singled and had four RBI’s. O’Brien added two singles and knocked in two runs, and Richter, Deutsch, and Suther singled. O’Brien was the winning pitcher, striking out three in two innings, and Kandrick Jones hurled an inning of relief and fanned two.

Sisseton 3-11
Britton put together back-to-back four-run rallies in the first two innings to take charge of the opener and Sisseton returned the favor with a five-run final frame to win the nightcap.
Brek Stelzer led a nine-hit attack that featured four extra-base hits with a double, two singles, and four RBI’s. Deutsch homered and singled and knocked in three runs, Gage Beck doubled, singled, and had a pair of RBI’s, and Jones and Peters both singled. Tyler Wurst pitched the opening inning and was the winning pitcher and four hurlers combined for 11 strikeouts.
In game two Sisseton led 11-3 in the final inning and Britton’s four-run rally fell short. The local nine out-hit Sisseton 11-7, led by Deutsch with three safeties. Beck had two hits with a pair of RBI’s, Jones laced two singles, Peters had a single with two RBI’s, and Tripp Hagen, James Raabe, and Wurst each singled.
Groton 9-8
Britton 7-4
Groton used five-run innings in the first frame of both games and Britton wasn’t able to bounce back, despite out-hitting the visitors in both contests.
Beck doubled and singled, Stelzer singled twice, Peters tripled and had two RBI’s, Jones doubled, and Raabe and Deutsch singled. Five Britton pitchers were on the mound.
In game two Groton managed just a single hit off five Britton pitchers but took advantage of 17 walks. Beck doubled and had two RBI’s, and Jones, Deutsch, and Peters rapped safeties.

Britton rallied from a 2-0 first inning deficit with four runs in the third on the way to its win.
Jones had three singles, Suther two singles and a pair of RBI’s, and Deutsch, Beck, and Wurst had base hits. Deutsch picked up the pitching win, throwing four innings and fanning 10 batters. Peters hurled an inning of relief and struck out two.

Clark came back from a 2-1 deficit with a pair of runs in the third inning and held on for the win.
Jones and Beck each laced a pair of singles and Peters added a base hit. Beck pitched the first three innings and struck out four, while Peters fanned two in an inning of relief.
