BRITTON'S U10 SOFTBALL ON ROLL

    The Britton U10 softball team was on a roll in the past week, winning all five of its games.
    Coach Jeff Mills’ squad no-hit Clark last week Wednesday and posted a 5-0 shutout, swept Sisseton 9-2 and 14-3 last week Tuesday, and took two from Webster last week Monday 6-1 and 5-0.

    Britton jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning and that was all that Sadie Mills needed as she did not allow a hit or a walk and struck out six in three innings.
    Shea Hastings tripled, singled, and collected two RBI’s to lead Britton’s eight-hit attack.  Harper Steiner added a single and two RBI’s, and Mills, Claire Morrell, Emsley Eimers, Preslie Steiner, and Maria Sanchez Colmenarez each singled.

Sisseton 2-3
    The local nine erupted for five first inning runs and tacked on four more in the second to roll past Sisseton in the opener and then put together back-to-back five-run outbursts in the first two innings of the nightcap to earn the sweep.
`    Faustina Rapkoch and Hastings both rapped three singles, Laney Ahlgren, Hayden Peters, and Emma Stiegelmeier each singled twice, Morrell, Delilah Hockenbrock, and Aleece Patterson all singled, and Morrell and Peters both knocked in a pair of runs for Britton’s 17-hit effort in game one.  Rapkoch went the distance on the mound, striking out four and allowing just five hits.
    In game two Britton pounded out 19 hits.  Peters laced three singles and had five RBI’s, Morrell doubled and singled twice, and Alyssa Kanizar added three base hits to lead the way.  Rapkoch doubled and singled and had three RBI’s, Patterson singled twice and had two RBI’s, Laken Tosse and Hockenbrock singled twice, Hastings had a single and three RBI’s, and Ahlgren singled.  Hastings and Peters teamed up on the mound with Hastings getting the win.

Webster 1-0
    Britton came up with a pair of three-run innings to take the opener and used a five-run second in the nightcap to finish the sweep.
    Mills doubled and singled in game one, Bentleigh Rein and Steiner each laced two singles, and Hastings, Alice Rabenberg, Morrell, Kanizar, and Colmenarez all singled.  Hastings pitched a complete game and struck out nine in four innings.
    In the second game Mills doubled and Eimers, Preslie Steiner, Stiegelmeier, Colmenarez, Rein, Hastings, Harper Steiner, and Morrell all singled.  Rein pitched all three innings to get the shutout win, fanning three and not allowing a walk.
