The Britton U10 Junior Jacks baseball team picked up one win in five contests during the past week.
The local nine dropped a twin bill to Webster Gray last week Tuesday 9-1, 9-5 and won one of three games in a Groton tournament on Saturday, bouncing back from a 5-1 loss to Clark in opening round play with a 19-0 no-hit drubbing of the Aberdeen Smittys travel team before losing to Groton 8-6 in the consolation championship.

Webster jumped out to a 6-1 lead after two innings and did not allow a Britton hit in the opener and then grabbed a 9-0 advantage in game two to earn the sweep.
Three Britton hurlers combined for 13 strikeouts in the first game with Gage Beck fanning six, in two innings, Oliver Suther four in two frames, and Brek Stelzer three in one inning. In game two Beck had a pair of base hits and two RBI’s and Suther singled. Tyler Wurst struck out six in two innings.

Britton led 1-0 after four innings but Clark exploded for five fifth inning runs to get the win.
Beck and Stelzer each singled for Britton. Tatum Deutsch started on the mount and allowed just one hit and struck out seven in three innings.

Aberdeen 0
Britton erupted for 12 runs in the first inning to cruise past Aberdeen and three hurlers combined for a no-hitter.
Deutsch slammed an inside-the-park grand slam homer to spark a seven-run second inning, added a single, and knocking in six runs. Isaac O’Brien ripped a triple and single and had three RBI’s, and Beck laced a pair of singles and knocked in four counters. Kandrick Jones, Andrew Bolzer, Gannon Peters, Stelzer, and Tripp Hagen added base hits. Three pitchers – Beck, Suther, and Sam Richter - each pitched an inning and each fanned three batters.

Groton rallied for two runs in the sixth to break a 6-6 tie and claim the consolation championship.
Peters had a pair of singles and three RBI’s, Beck doubled and singled, and O’Brien singled twice to lead Britton at the plate. Jones added a safety.
