The Britton U12 Junior Jacks baseball team won one game in five outings during the past week.
The local nine dropped its opener against Milbank 7-1 in a tournament in Groton on Sunday, ousted Clark 11-7 in second round action, and lost to Groton 9-2 in the third contest. On Thursday Britton dropped a twin bill to Sisseton 4-3, 10-1.

Sisseton weathered a late Britton rally to win the opener and then broke open a tight contest with four runs in the third and five more in the fourth of the second game.
Colton Biel laced two singles and Crue Jones added a safety in the first game. Archer Easthouse pitched three innings and struck out eight and was tagged with the loss. Britton came up with just two hits in the nightcap, singles by Jones and Hezekiah O’Brien and four pitchers shared mound duties.

Milbank did not allow a Britton hit in the opening win. O’Brien had four strikeouts in two innings of relief.

Britton erupted for five first inning runs but Clark trailed just 7-6 in the third before the Junior Jacks put the game away with a four-run third frame. O’Brien had three singles and knocked in three runs, and Biel and Easthouse laced base hits. Easthouse picked up the pitching win, striking out seven in three innings and Biel pitched an inning of relief.

Groton pushed across six first inning runs and Britton was not able to recover. Easthouse doubled and Corwyn Eye and Wynn Mattson singled. Biel and Easthouse handled the pitching duties.
